Just across the border, Canada is preparing to welcome 700 Syrians a day

+ Amid strong resistance from many U.S. lawmakers to taking in Syrian refugees – and just across a relatively porous border – Canada is preparing for a flood of immigrants from the war-torn country. As many as 900 Syrian refugees could land each day – or 6,300 per week – in Toronto and Montreal starting as soon as December 1, as part of “Operation Syrian Refugees,” according to documents obtained by CTV News. They will be screened by Canadian officials, who will examine documents and biometric data.

+ Bill and Hillary Clinton have spent over four decades cultivating a global network of donors, raising at least $3 billion for their political campaigns and the family’s charitable foundation, according to a stunning investigation by the Washington Post. Along the way, the power couple pioneered fundraising techniques “that have transformed modern politics and paved the way for them to potentially become the first husband and wife to win the White House.”

These are the Clinton Foundation’s main donors in 2015

Today, the Clinton Foundation released its list of contributors in the first half of 2015, claiming that it raised more money than it did in the same period last year.

Of course, the list is being heavily scrutinized since Hillary Clinton announced her presidential campaign this spring and in the wake of numerous stories that raised questions about whether influential donors attempted to buy influence through donations to the foundation.

Among the donors in this time period who have contributed at least $1 million overall to the foundation are:

Some major foundations (the Gates Foundation, the Saban Family Foundation, the Pritzker Family Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation), unions (the American Federation of Teachers) and banks (Barclays PLC, Goldman Sachs and HSBC) and large energy firms (Cheniere Energy, Duke Energy).

Donors who have contributed in previous years but are missing in action so far this year are many foreign countries (since the foundation limited such donations to a few allies: Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom) and Donald Trump.

Here is the full list of major donors (who have contributed at least $100,000) in the first half of 2015:
